The Spanish Samuel Aranda won the World Press Photo Award

A representation of a hidden lady supporting an injured relative in her arms, taken in Yemen by Spanish picture taker Samuel Aranda for The New York Times has won the top World Press Photo prize. 

The photo caught a minute in the contention in Yemen, when demonstrators against active president Ali Abdullah Saleh utilized a mosque as a part of Sanaa as a field clinic to treat the injured. 

Reuters picture taker Damir Sagolj won first prize in the Daily Life Singles classification with his photo of North Korea's organizer, Kim Il-Sung on a divider in Pyongyang.
